So here's my last effort in trying to find a solution to this problem before i just take the entire computer and throw it out.

My problem is that while playing GW ( other games it happens on aswell. WoW,Daoc ) my computer will do one of the following. A. The screen will go black and i will have to manually retart the computer. B. the screen will go black and it will reboot itself. I have NEVER gotten an error message of anysorts and this problem has been going on for 2yrs if not more. Yah i've put up with it for that long..sad really. I guess i've just been tryin to avoid buying a new computer/vid card. O and i've never gotten a blue screen crash or anything like that either.

All the tests on dxdiag come back "working properly". I've went into msconfig and shut off all background opperations. I've upgraded the pwr supply ( been long time since i did that now ). I constintly check for driver updates for everything on the computer and install them if theres any. Ofcourse on all the games it happens on i turn OFF or down all graphical things in game i can. I shut off the auto restart feature in windows. I've tried EVERY combination of pwr settings there is. Also tryed each display setting in game and out. I've opened up the computer twr and put a small fan blowing in it. incase of overheating. Also cleaned it top to bottom inside and out ( card slots included ).

To be honest with you i've forgotten most of the things i've tried. It's been going on that long. This is just a small example of things that i've tried.

And here is the spec's of the computer.......If there anything i leave out that someone would like pls just ask and i will give it to you.....

Video card drivers. Me and my GF Just updated hers today (She was having your exact problem) and it seems to be fine, so far.

http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html Pick your computer specs/video card and go download the drivers. But before installing them you need to uninstall your old ones via the add/remove programs folder, just remove ALL ATI related stuff, and then it'll ask you to reboot, then you just install the new ones and it should be fine.

Ty for response. I've tried that in the past but i decided it wouldnt hurt to try again. So i did what you suggested. Went to add/remove programs got rid of everything ati related and restarted comp. Then went to site and dled drivers for my comp.

10mins into playing i got the black screen and had to manually reboot.

I should also mention i run regular anit-virus/spyware etc. weekly.

Wow really? That's bad.. I'm sorry but I can't really pinpoint your problem then, because usually video drivers are the problem for cases like this.

If worst comes to worst, you could always just buy a new PC.

Yours is getting a little old anyways, bout time for an upgrade if I may say. PS: Don't give up yet though, you never know if you'll find the problem, maybe someone else here knows.
